MSSRC ExprLib Page

Here you have access to various interactive demos based on mathematical software developed by MSSRC. From time to time, new examples will be added.
These demos are quite elementary in terms of what is possible. If you are interested in more advanced applications, please send a request to information.
A mathematical expression is thought of intuitively as either a constant, e.g. 3.2, an indeterminate, e.g. x, a function with parameters, e.g. tan(x + 2 y) or, recursively, quotients, sums, products, or linear combinations of such expressions, e.g.
(2.31 x3 - 4.3 tan(x + 2 y)) / (y5 - 1).
Note that you will be working with expressions that have double (floating point) coefficients.

  1. Find a root of a function of one variable

  2. Differentiate an expression with respect to a variable

  3. Evaluate an expression in one variable at a point

  4. Evaluate an expression in several variables at a point

  5. Find a root of a possibly non-linear set of n equations in n unknowns

  6. Solve a system of partial differential equations

In order to accommodate all browsers and operating systems, a simple CGI interface is used for the demos.
